Artist's Description
Image of a tattered and torn teddy bear on the floor of a dingy dark space being transformed into a dove flying through the broken bars of a single window.
I believe that in the deepest, darkest; corner of our souls there is a glimmer. Sometimes the fight to uncover it is harder than you think or ever want, but it is there.
The fight endures even after the darkness has cleared, the memory still left behind. It is not the core of who you are, but will always be part of your foundation. It may be the canvas, on which your life is painted, but it is not the painting. It maybe one color on the brush, but it is not the painting.
Be free and take flight from thinking that any one incident in your life is the whole of who you are. It is only a small wrinkle in time and the universe is a grand open sky, which never ends.
Let us hold hope gently in our grasp and let it take us where we need to go.
About Mary Palmer
When I was young, art became my transportation; I could go anywhere. It could be summer when the snow was falling or cool crisp winter when the days were too hot. Contemplating all the details or possibilities that a drop of ink or a blob of paint can hold locked within it begins as an intriguing mystery. Directing and watching it grow into something that can transport the viewer to another place, even for a moment, is a tremendously fulfilling adventure. I have always been able to tell when a painting is done when I find myself in it; I hope you can too. https://www.marypalmerartist.com
